Why we like Prickly Pear Seed Oil and use it in our facial oil.
You can see prickly pear cactus (Opuntia ficus indica) plants everywhere in Texas, Arizona, California and other states. Unfortunately prickly pear seed oil is not manufactured in the US. (If you know of someone who is manufacturing in the US, please let us know!) We suspect that this is because the cacti have not been planted for efficient farming, but just sprout up everywhere they can. Most prickly pear seed oil is manufactured in Morocco and Tunisia.
The Prickly Pear fruit contains numerous small black seeds from which the precious Prickly Pear Seed Oil is extracted. This oil is highly valued for its nourishing, antioxidant properties in skincare products. The potent, unique oil has a variety of benefits for the skin with anti-inflammatory properties and essential fatty acids rich in vitamin E. A major advantage is that it can break through your skin’s epidermis to moisturize deeply and thoroughly. That’s why we like it so much.
